Harmen Cnossen appears guest conducting with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and will conduct the world premiere with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in his latest work “Horses Sensing Thunder“

About Harmen
Conductor and composer Harmen Cnossen was born in Friesland, The Netherlands.
He studied at the M.P.A in Leeuwarden, The Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and the Herbert von Karajan Academie in Berlin with Prof. Rainer Seegers.
After winning the Hong Kong Philharmonic Fellowship Conducting Award he became assistant conductor of Maestro Edo de Waart and Resident Conductor of The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus.
He was guest conductor with the Berlin Philharmonic Academie Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Nanning Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, Antwerp Philharmonic Orchester, Kammerphilharmonie Leipzig.
His compositions were performed under his baton in Asia, U.S.A and Europe.
Harmen’s passion for the symphony orchestra and her musicians reflects his respect for craftsmanship and tradition, all in combination with the vision and experience of traveling and living in 2022 on this planet.
As a educator he was Professor of Choral Conducting at the Suzhou University of Science and Technology Department of Music and vocal coach at the Opera Department Harbin Conservatory of music.
